My favourite armchair read after Tolkien and the Pern
saga - Of all the Holmes stories my favourite has to be "The Hound of the
Baskervilles"! Of all the actors to play Mr Holmes the best,
in my opinion was Jeremy Brett in the Granada TV series. For me he
best captured the aura of nervous energy portrayed by Conan-Doyle in all
the novels. Close behind him, however, is the actor Basil
Rathbone - he had the intellectual sense well defined but did not give
the aura to the rle the Jeremy Brett did. I'm sure others
won't agree with me here though :-)
