Welcome!!
Alvis Stalwarts - probably the most maligned vehicle ever to be struck off the military census!!! into private ownership
There are probably more "urban myths" surrounding this vehicle than any other - the vast majority of which are unfounded. Yes they are a machine that thrives on high level of maintenance yet the only difference between this and the other members of the Alvis 6x6 family is the manual gearbox and "Ratcheting" Diferential - as opposed to the preselect unit fitted to the Saldins, Saracens and Salamanders.
In this section can be found details of my own vehicle, little Maud - a 1968 built FV622, Alvis Stalwart Mk2, Truck, Cargo, High Mobility Load Carrier, 5 Ton, 6x6, FFR as the Army used to refer to them in it's publications
Also - links to other Stalwart related sites as well as any documentation and experiences of repair and maintenance that might be useful to other owners!!
