AEC Militants

The AEC Militant served withthe Armed Forces in two vesions - the Mk 1 and the Mk 3. The Mk 2 was a trial version that was never introduced into service.

I took my HGV Class 2 on a 6x4 Militant Mk 1 3-way Tipper variant whilst serving in the TA with "C" Troop, 215 Sqdn, 151 Regt RCT (VR) based up in the Mile End Road in london. The drill hall was just opposite the tube station - I believe as with many ohter sites it is now an apartment block

The squadrons HQ and "A" troop were based down at Grays in Essex and they were equipped with the 6x6 10-ton GS version of the Mk 1. Being a TAVR unit the Mk 3's never entered service until long after I had transferred out.
